Miguel Vazquez
Senior Vice Commander - Marines

Comrade Miguel A. Vazquez served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps as an Intelligence Specialist (MOS 0231) from 2002-2006 with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) I (2003) and OIF II (2004-2005) during Operation Phantom Fury. Comrade Vazquez was awarded various medals and decorations for his service as well as for exemplary actions during his two deployments.

Comrade Vazquez continues to serve out of uniform. He has and is still involved in dedicating his personal time to volunteering. Whether it was being a representative of a Veterans Advisory Council, or a team leader with a nationally recognized Veterans Community Service organization, his dedication and commitment to community and helping veterans is unrelentless.

He has been a part of Team Rubicon, Iraq, and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), Wounded Warrior Project and co-founded Compton Veterans.

Since joining the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, he was elected to the positions of Trustee and Junior Vice Commander with Post 5394 and Trustee with the VFW California 4th District.
